Set it up in TrackQr (about 5 minutes)

  1. 1

Create the QR code you want on your slips — a product, a review page or a campaign page.

  2. 2

In My QR codes, open the ⋯ menu of the code and choose “Order emails & packing slips”. Copy the snippet.

  3. 3

In Shopify admin, open Settings → Shipping and delivery → Packing slip template, and paste the snippet where the code should appear (for example after the order items).

  4. 4

For the confirmation email, open Settings → Notifications → Customer notifications → Order confirmation, click Edit code and paste the same snippet.

  5. 5

Print a test slip and send yourself a test email, then scan both.

What you'll learn

  • Which orders scan the code — the order number is recorded with each scan
  • The scans export (Analytics → Export) lists the order number of every scan
  • Repeat orders that follow the scan, with their revenue (Growth)

Tips

  • Place the code next to a clear promise: “Scan to get 10% off your next order”.
  • Thermal printers handle black on white best — keep the standard style for slips.
  • Use the same code in the email and on the slip: the order number tells them apart.

Per-order codes on packing slips and order emails are included from the Starter plan ($9/month). See pricing

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to create one QR code per order?

No. You create one QR code and paste one snippet. Shopify fills in the order number for each order, so every slip and email shows its own code automatically.

Does it work with any Shopify theme?

Yes. Packing slips and notification emails are Shopify templates, separate from your theme, so the snippet works the same for every store.
